Fire doors are …
Fire doors are doors that are meant to operate automatically in a fire. They close by themselves, and are fire proof. When the fire is over, they open by themselves…or at least they do in the hallways of our hospitals here in California.
We have fire drills periodically during which the doors are tested to make sure that when the fire alarm is sounded, they automatically close. When the drill is over, they open again. Perhaps this was a fire drill.
